Hey All: Just finished the first part of steam cleaning the carpets in the house oh fun. One more day of work before a long weekend. I'm excited for Sat. We're doing our Youth Servant Evangelism Christmas tree recycling. It should be fun, but mostly I'm just anxious to see some of the youth. Yea, I know I'm pathetic, but I love being with the youth. Okay, a cool thing happened at lunch today. I was driving back to the office and was stopped at the stop light. I glanced over and there was Billy, a guy from the youth group, when I first started working with youth here in Yakima. We talked for a few seconds until the light turned green. It was so cool. My expresso gals gave me a Christmas card, yesterday. It was so sweet and they each wrote a little note in the card. Well, I better get to bed before it's time to leave for work. Hope everyone has a good New Years.

It just seems to be one of those weeks, where I’m on autopilot. Not really joyful about anything, I guess you could call it the Christmas blues. I was asked if I was angry or tired last night. Tired I guess. I’ve been up late a lot trying to get things ready for Christmas, get presents delivered and a lot of stress at work with people angry at each other and junk like that. Oh and my back is out of kilter, hurts most of the time especially when I try to sit down and add confusion in a relationship. Ugh. Whatever happened to the magic of the season? I’ve turned into a Martha. I’ve been thinking of a Randy Stonehill song “Stop The World, I Want To Get Off”. I ended up crying as I was driving to the post office last night. I’m just way too emotional right now. I thought of an old hymn this morning as I was on the way to work. Trust And Obey. There is this one line in there that seems so appropriate. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Thanks for listening to this emotional basketcase. Hope everyone has a great day.

There are times that we don’t know how to describe our feelings and somehow a song that isn’t quite saying it all will describe our situation pretty accurately. When things aren’t going well, Rom 8:28 tells us that God will work all things for good. He will bring beauty from pain. I just wish that no one would ever have to feel like this, but James 1:2 tells us to count it all joy when you face trials of all kinds. Joy isn’t a fake happy smile, but a trust and deep down contentment in the Lord and his word despite what the circumstances look like. Here is that song.

In Psalms, we are told to Praise the Lord. It's not a conditional statement, it's a commandment. If you feel great, praise God. If things are going bad and you feel crummy, praise God. Everything we go through helps us to draw closer to God whether good or bad. Praise him no matter what. You want to see it yourself, read Ps. 146-150. Oh yea, Geoff did a great job in Oklahoma play at YVCC. It plays one last night @YVCC 7:30 sat. It was sold out last night, so get your tickets early and listen to band and eat refreshments in the Hub starting at 6:30. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm excited about our youth group helping out at the Northwest Harvest Food drive @KNDO from 2-4 pm today. Come by if you get a chance.

Hey All: I went to an awesome play last night. Robin Hood performed at Zillah High School. There are 2 more performances tonight Nov 18 & 19 @7:00 pm. If you're not busy this weekend, you should check it out. It features 3 of my favorite actors Amanda Duford as the wonderful Griselda the fawning lady, Josiah Gust as the humorous Robin Hood and Abbie Bounds as the lovely Lady Marian. I'll be up at the youth fall retreat this weekend. It's going to be a good weekend. Hope everyone has a great day.

» Rumors Stink
I found out that someone was circulating rumors about me. It makes me sick to the stomach that they couldn’t come talk to me. Perhaps they think that they were helping in some way or that I wasn’t approachable, I don’t know. In Prov. 16:28 it says “A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.” When you hear some gossip about someone, before you take it to be true. Be bold and find out the truth from the source. I appreciate the person asking me if it was true rather than just assuming it. Have a good day.

» Overwhelmed
Oh there are so many ways that I could post tonight. My heart is overwhelmed right now. If you saw me after service tonight, you know what I mean. Pastor made some comments in the sermon that just "hit me where I live". How do I explain this without sounding mean? Hopefully, this will come out right. Pastor said everyone needs a close friend and I hope that you do and explained how Barb & him were friends before they ever became romantically involved. It brought out my desire to find that special someone that God has for me. Also, it brought out a sadness for the friends that I don't have in my life at this time. Some were very close friends that I haven't found anyone that I'm as close to now as I was when they were in my life. It just seems that my friendships are not that deep anymore. Of course, some of my closest friendships would be frowned upon by certain people because it's not traditional. Of course, I'm no traditional typical guy. It still freaks some people out that I do scrapbooking. Lol. Pastor called out in his closing prayer about someone was struggling with a certain problem. I have had a struggle in the past in that area and I had considered it, but God's love kept me from doing it. When I get overwhelmed I may have a fleeting thought in that area, but God is bigger than all of my problems. I feel bad that someone is struggling in that area. Some things are just more of a struggle for one person than for another. However, if we break the law in one way, we are guilty of breaking all of the law. Big thanks to those who prayed for me after service. I really do appreciate it. Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow. Goodnight. Sleep tight.

» Weird (Funny) thoughts in my head
Sometimes things can seem so weird (Funny) to me. I was riding my motorcycle home last night from work. I saw 5 motorcyclist and 4 of them waved to me even though one was turning a corner and couldn’t really wave. It’s so funny how friendly motorcyclists are to each other. As I was coming down the street by my place, some kids sitting in a front yard waved to me. Of course, I waved back to all these people, but if I was in the truck, none of these people would’ve waved at me. Crazy thought: As a Christian I should be friendly and kind to all people, but we have this tendency to only be friendly to certain people (Christians), sometimes even just certain Christians. I was reading in Rom. 16:16 “Greet one another with a holy kiss”. The commentary I use was talking about this custom of kissing was as common to the culture there as shaking hands is to us and that holy meant to not have any sexual connotations in the act. This would mean that we are to shake hands with every believer, whether it’s the older gentleman in the suit, the child running thru the church, the guy with purple hair, or anyone else who knows Jesus. Every person has different way to shake hands like each person will wave differently. It doesn’t mean that we have to conform to one way of shaking hands or need to dress the same. God made us all different. Perhaps, we could learn to be more friendly to each other. True, you can’t always greet each person in the church, but we can make the most of the opportunities that we do have. I’m excited about the chance to get to hang out with some people that I don’t get to talk to much at church. True, it’s a work project, but there will be time to talk some. Oh yea, if you’re from Peru, people greet you with a kiss on the cheek. How do I know? My friend’s mother is from Peru and his Aunt from Peru would greet me and everyone else with a kiss on the cheek, when I was in California for my friend’s wedding a couple of years ago. Hope everyone has great weekend.
